Sometimes people don't know what to ask when selecting an investment adviser, and if they don't ask, many people just don't bring it up.

 

There are some important questions that we feel you should ask everyone.

1. What makes one product different from another, and why is it important.
2. How do you get paid and what is included
3. Is the portfolio positioned well for the expected market returns over the next twelve to eighteen months?

When you ask the right questions, you become a more informed investor and your relationship with your adviser becomes more strategic. 

Never feel uneasy about asking direct questions, and keep asking until you feel that you understand why recommendations are being made and what the rational is for having each element of your investment portfolio.
